# Uchim

Russian has a reputation for being hard. Uchim exists to prove that it is
merely *structured* — and that structure, taught in the right order, is exactly
what makes it learnable.

**Why Uchim**

- **Every verb, every form, every stress mark.** Verbs are the hardest part of
  Russian. Uchim shows each one fully conjugated and stress-marked, with example
  sentences that show it in use — so you always know how to say it, not just
  how to spell it.
- **Cases that finally make sense.** Accusative, genitive and the rest,
  explained like a guide: the rules that matter, with real examples, instead of
  tables to memorise.
- **Verb aspect, demystified.** Perfective versus imperfective is the wall most

**Uchim and AI chatbots**

We are not against AI. A chatbot is a fine companion for a quick question, a
translation or a sanity check, and we say so openly — we use AI ourselves, to
polish our wording. But a chatbot is not a curriculum. It answers what you ask,
in whatever order you happen to ask it, with no idea of what you already know
or what you should learn next — and it cannot tell whether its own answer is
right. For a language as rule-bound as Russian, that is exactly where learners
get stuck: a fluent, confident, wrong explanation, memorised and then unlearned
the hard way.

Uchim is different by design, and that difference is the whole point:

- **One language, done properly.** Uchim is built for Russian and nothing else.
  Every rule, every exercise, every example is there because Russian needs it —
  not because a general-purpose model happened to produce it.
- **A path a chatbot cannot give you.** From A1 to C2 in an order that builds on
  itself. You do not need to know what to ask; Uchim knows what comes next.
- **Rules that are actually right.** Written by people and checked against
  recognised dictionaries, corpora and grammars — not predicted word by word.
- **Practice a conversation cannot replace.** Structured exercises built around
  the mistakes learners really make, with progress you can measure.

Use a chatbot alongside Uchim if it helps you. But for learning Russian from the
ground up, in the right order, with rules you can rely on — that combination of
one language, a verified rulebook, a sequenced path and practice built on real

The site is published in 11 languages. English is served without a prefix; every
